Fantastical Geographic #5: Steeped in Style Tea & Fashion

A mockup of Fantastical Geographic's 5th issue titled Steeped in Style. The cover features a white and gold tea cup sloshing tea out of the cup and over a matching saucer with spoon. There are white and pink roses scattered in the background.

Enjoy a tranquil cup of tea while watching a stream of adventurous fashion parade before you!

As a young explorer, centuries ago, I found myself listless, meandering the countryside, questioning the choices I had made in life. As I finally huffed my frustration at feeling so uncertain, I spotted an absolute gem of a homestead not far from me. So close, in fact, that I was rather surprised I hadn’t noticed it before!

As I got closer, a gently swinging sign over the door proclaimed I had arrived at the Steeped in Style Tea House. I had to chuckle. It was in the middle of nowhere with not a town in sight! Surely, they couldn’t be doing much for business!

Yet when the door opened before I even reached the knob, I was immediately greeted by an enchanting woman with a fashionable hair style and the most inviting smiling. She ushed me into the building and towards a table in the center of the room, in clear view of the stage. The spread before me was eloquently set with fine rose-pattern porcelain cups and plates. The silverware was polished to a mirror finish and the rose centerpiece was exquisite! Everything was perfect, as if designed just for me.

I spent the afternoon enjoying a variety of teas and sandwiches while watching a parade of exotic apparel float across the stage in front of me. It was the most relaxed I had felt in ages and something about the whole experience restored my soul in ways I hadn’t realized I needed.

So when it was expressed to me that the Fantastical Geographic staff was in need of a less strenuous assignment, I knew immediately where we must go. Pilar, the owner of the house and the lovely creature who greeted me that day, was more than happy to accommodate us and even offered some insight into her unique establishment.

It is forever my hope that when you need it most, you find a place of respite to set your weary bones. Just don’t be surprised if you suddenly find a tea house in your vicinity when you could have sworn there wasn’t anything there before.
